Getting to Tortuguero
Tortuguero is accessible only by boat or small aircraft. We can arrange transfers from San José (SJO) or Liberia (LIR) airports. Contact us to arrange your transfer — the jungle boat ride is an experience in itself.
After you book, you can add tours, transfers, and experiences anytime — via WhatsApp or the front desk. We arrange everything before you arrive.
How do I get to Tortuguero?
By small plane from San José or by boat from La Pavona. We coordinate transport from anywhere in Costa Rica — contact us via WhatsApp.
Can I drive there?
No. Tortuguero is an island with no roads. Park at La Pavona pier and take a boat in.
Are there cars in Tortuguero?
None. Walk or bike everywhere — it's one of the most peaceful places in Costa Rica.
Where is the hotel?
Center of the village — 5-minute walk to the park, beach, and main street.
When can we see turtles?
Green sea turtles nest at Tortuguero in July, August, and September only (peak August). Book a guided night tour. Leatherbacks (baula): March–June — ask front desk.
Can I swap dinner for breakfast?

Best time to visit?
Wildlife and canal tours year-round. Green turtle nesting: July, August, September only — not December–April. Drier weeks often February–April.
