Tortuguero is a small village at the edge of the national park, and the island is separated by a river from the mainland.

To reach this beautiful destination, you have two options available: By Land or by Air.

Land option:

Drive to La Pavona Pier (GCV3+V8C, Limón Province, Roxana), We offer private transport from San Jose to La Pavona for 130,000 crc one-way up to 4 passengers, 20k each additional passenger. From there you will take a boat to Tortuguero. The boat trip lasts approximately 40 minutes to one hour. See the shared boat schedule below. The private boat ride is available for 40k crc up to 6 passengers and 5k for each additional passenger.

The mere fact of arriving in Pavona begins the adventure because if you pay attention when traveling through the river of luck (“Rio Seuerte”) towards Tortuguero you have a chance to find Crocodiles, Caimans, Basilisks, Herons, Monkeys,  Iguanas, and many birds…

– La Pavona to Tortuguero: 6:00 am, 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 11:00 am,

– Tortuguero to La Pavona: 5:00 am, 7:00 am, 9:00 am.

Private transportation option:

If you prefer greater comfort and convenience, you can choose to hire a private transportation service. The approximate prices for different routes are as follows: transport before 1 pm from San Jose. after 1 pm 40,000crc more. (included private boat

– San José – Tortuguero: CRC 140,000. Taxi Transport and sherd Boat Ride Included per 2 person, 5k per addional person.

– San José – La Pavona: CRC 130,000. Taxi Transport only

-Departure from TTG (Tortuguero) to FOTN: 12:50 pm / 1:20 pm.
